 | Ronald Simmons, Managing Partner
Ronald brings a broad perspective and commercial acumen to client service, having worked not only in practice, but also in the commercial arena and the wider Bermuda community.
Ronald qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, where his audit and advisory experience encompassed the financial services sector, principally the insurance, investment and mutual fund industries and banking. Ronald was responsible for co-ordinating assignments with international affiliate offices, planning, budgeting and controlling assignments, and working closely with clients to meet deadlines.
Ronald’ s commercial experience, which covered the insurance and banking sector, has provided him with a deep understanding of business risk, management motivations and performance management issues. His banking experience includes venture capital, financial products, derivatives and investment management.
Ronald is also committed to Bermuda’s community. Ronald serves on the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bermuda. Also, his roles as Chairman of the Public Funds Investment Committee, Chairman of the Telecommunications Commission, Member of the Audit Committee of the Bermuda Government and Chairman of the Bermuda Housing Trust gives him a unique insight into government and public finance.

 | Richard Moore, Partner
Richard joined Moore Stephens in 1968 and has worked in London, New York, Sydney and Hong Kong, and is currently Chairman of Moore Stephens International Limited. He acts as lead partner on assurance and advisory assignments for substantial national and international enterprises in the shipping, asset management, property investment, and sports and leisure sectors.

 | Michael Butler, Partner
Michael specialises in providing audit and tax services to the insurance industry, both in the UK and overseas. He is Moore Stephens LLP, London’s lead partner for mutual insurance associations and acts for a number of other carriers and brokers. Recent projects include advising on accounting, regulatory and tax issues of alternative risk transfer mechanisms for insurers and reinsurers in the UK and overseas, notably in Bermuda.
Michael has been involved with the insurance industry for over thirty years, joining Moore Stephens on the firm’s merger with Bagshaws in 1991.

 | Simon Gallagher, Partner
Simon specialises in the insurance industry, providing audit, business and systems assurance, and due diligence services. He is responsible for delivering risk management and regulatory consulting services across the insurance sector, advising on strategy, implementation and other management issues. His clients include underwriters, brokers and entities that support the industry.
Simon has been involved in numerous forensic accounting projects as well as working internationally with governments and regulators on various high profile projects.
Simon joined Moore Stephens in 1999 from KPMG’s insurance group. He has 20 years’ experience in the insurance market both within and outside the accounting profession, including head of corporate accounting and control for a major personal lines telesales insurer and internal audit manager to a motor insurer.
